“LA LINEA VERDE” AT PLMA TO KEEP ON GROWING IN EUROPE

Once again, La Linea Verde, Italian producer of fresh-cut salads and chilled fresh soups, will take part in PLMA International Trade Show held in Amsterdam.
La Linea Verde, founded by two brothers, Giuseppe and Domenico Battagliola (still in charge of the business) is a company leader on the Italian market. The group is the evolution of a family agricultural business, that relies on solid family values. It boasts 40 years of experience in agriculture, more than 25 years in fresh-cut and 10 years in chilled fresh ready meals. Quality is guaranteed throughout the whole supply chain: from seeding and harvesting at the farm, to processing at the production site, all the way up to delivery at the point of sale.
With 6 production sites (in Italy, Spain and Serbia), own state-of-the art greenhouses and 5 commercial offices (in Italy, Spain, Serbia, Russia and France), La Linea Verde is a reliable co-packer for 60 large-scale retailers in Italy and abroad. With a turnover of €238 million Euros in 2017, the company is performing very well on foreign markets (Austria, France, Spain, Poland, Serbia, Czech Republic, Belgium). As a matter of fact, in 2017, 35% of La Linea Verde’s sales were generated abroad, thanks both to export activities from Italy and to the performance of the Spanish branch of the group.
The key to the company’s success lies in its innovative, high-quality and convenient products both standard and organic. The product range offered by the company includes washed salads in different formats, prepared salads with dressing, chilled fresh soups and deli-salads, smoothies and cold-pressed juices and unwashed baby leaf salads.
Thanks to a continuous investment in technology and an internal team specialised in R&D, La Linea Verde has always aimed at extending the offer and increasing the turnover of the Fresh Produce Department through products of exceptional added-value, even creating new markets. In 2006 La Linea Verde was the first company to launch fresh soups in Italy and since then it has always been the leader of this market with a 50% market share.
At PLMA the management team of La Linea Verde will be present at the company booth Hall 1, stand F-5368 (ICE AREA) and will be looking forward to reinforcing its relationships with International large‑scale retail buyers. In this occasion, the company will present, beyond fresh bagged salads and chilled soups, its new range of fresh deli–products (cereal salads, pasta salads, side salads..) and sandwiches.
